# What is a Preview Deployment?

A preview deployment is a hosted copy of one version of your app. Hosts such as Vercel create one for each push to a branch other than production, or for a CLI deploy without the production flag. App builders such as Lovable, Bolt and Replit offer a similar publish step.

The copy stays up after you close your laptop, but it is frozen at the last deploy, and Vercel documents generated URLs as publicly accessible by default.

## How qURL Fits

When you want feedback while you build, qURL shares the live app instead of a copy: the reviewer sees your latest code, and the link works once and expires within 24 hours.
