Delete your qURL™ account
Effective Date: October 22, 2026
If you have a qURL account (creators)
One qURL account covers the mobile app, the web dashboard, the CLI when you sign in, and qURL Desktop. If you used the CLI without signing in, no account was created, so there is no account to delete; those links expire on their own, and you can still email privacy@layerv.ai about other data we hold. Email works for every account. The in-app option is available only when enabled in the mobile app.
- By email: write to privacy@layerv.ai from the email address on your account and say you want your account deleted. We may ask you to confirm it is you.
- If your qURL mobile app offers account deletion: Me > Settings > “Delete qURL account”.
The in-app option sends a deletion request. It does not delete your account immediately. We process requests manually and respond within the time frame required by applicable law.
What is deleted
- Your account and the email address on it.
- The API keys and custom domains on that account, if you use qURL from the web dashboard, the CLI, or qURL Desktop. They share one account. Enrolled devices lose access; their registration records are kept as described below.
- The links you shared with qURL, which stop working for everyone.
- Push notification tokens tied to your account.
- The requests people made to your posts, any email addresses they gave with them, and the access you gave.
Nothing is deleted from your own device or site: the files and pages you shared stay where they are. LayerV carries connections to them as a transit network and does not store them. If you have the qURL mobile app, Me > Settings > “Delete my data” removes what it keeps on your phone. Where the app offers deletion of private access, it first asks qURL to remove that access (see below).
What we keep
As described in our Privacy Policy, we keep information where the law requires it, where it is needed to resolve disputes, or where it is needed to protect LayerV's rights or those of others. That can include:
- Records we are required by law to keep, if any apply to you.
- Security, abuse-prevention, and audit logs, such as access IP addresses.
- Reports about posts and the record of what we did about them.
- Connector setup-credential and device registration records (which include the Connector's public key) and qURL token metadata, on the basis described in the Data Retention section of the Privacy Policy: setup-credential records for 30 days after the credential is used, expires, or is revoked, device registration records become eligible for deletion after 90 days without activity, and token metadata is kept for the life of the token plus a limited period.
If you do not have an account (viewers)
You do not need an account to open public posts in the qURL app. In the app, Me > Settings > “Delete my data” clears the data the app saved on your phone. Where private-access deletion is enabled, it first asks qURL to remove the access to private posts you asked for in the app and the email address you gave with those requests. If that step fails, you can retry or choose to clear only your phone. Clearing only your phone does not revoke access or erase server records. Contact us by email to request removal of data that remains on qURL.
For access you asked for on qurl.link in a browser, or if you no longer have the app, email privacy@layerv.ai from the email address you gave, if any. We revoke your access, cancel your pending requests, and remove your email address from our records of them, except for what we keep as described above. If you gave an email address with a request, the creator already has it; to have it deleted there, ask the creator. Opening a post without one is anonymous to its creator. Never paste a link itself: anything after a # sign is the secret that opens it.
